Tiles increase the décor of interiors. There are various trends followed in installing the tiles. People are not following the same designs and way of installation. They are using their ideas and creativity to make space more interesting. The type of tiles and the way it is laid has changed completely through years. Mix and match the colors, designs and pattern of tiles are the present trend. There are many ways where the tiles are mixed and matched to give that exotic look.



Bring a correct Balance
Bold colors and prints catch attention and give a personality to the house. If something goes wrong the tiles can be replaced easily. Mix and match tiles can be replaced easily as they are not unique. Using designer tiles on the wall and more simple tiles on the floor would give an elegant look. Splashbacks and accent walls can also give a gorgeous background for plain tiles.


Varies Proportion
The tiles change the look of space. For smaller rooms, larger tiles are mixed with smaller tiles to make space look larger. Small mosaics can be matched with the medium sized tiles for larger rooms. If monochrome color is maintained, the room looks cozy and quiet.

Maintain the flow
Creativity and boldness are good but sometimes it would not be good to squash all the colors. Mixing the tiles in a creative way is an art. Blending two different styles having the same tone would be beautiful. To give a pop to the tiles use a contrast-colored grout. Dark colored grout with light colored tiles would look attractive.



Textures
There are different textures in tiles. Some are glossy and some have a matte surface. There are tiles manufactured to mimic the wood structure. Here you can feel the texture with your fingers. There are a lot of tiles with texture and it may prove to be difficult. But textures add depth and uniqueness to space. Preferably the flooring may have mate finish tiles and the wall glossy ones. Some homeowners may prefer paint or wallpaper on the wall too.

Use Your Creativity
Normally the tiles are laid in a square or a rectangular pattern across the room. Instead of following the same pattern, the tiles with different sizes can be used for flooring. 30x30 cm, 60x40 cm and 60x60 cm can be used to give a unique look.
